2011: what a year…
Gone are the days of laying in bed scrolling through never ending tumblr posts, here are the days of going outside and enjoying fresh air…just kidding. I still spend an absurd amount of time working and in bed on the internet (pinterest has completely taken over any remaining tumblr addiction) as well as watching tv & movies online. In fact, here’s a picture of me taken just moments ago in my bed, enjoying a reeses ice cream bar in my new pajamas that my cousins bought for me for Christmas/Hanukkah!
I did somehow manage to accomplish a few things during 2011 though. Let’s take a trip down memory lane shall we?
1. I fell in love with the man that I had been holding out for, for the last seven or so years. I can’t even begin to list everything he has taught me or the ways he has changed my life for the better. Nor can I begin to list the amount of ways he disgusts and/or annoys me on a daily basis.2. I was promoted at work. I’m now officially the youngest person in that position on the biggest account my company has. 3. I turned 24. 4. I almost have kicked the habit of biting my nails. Although, now that I have long and pretty nails for the first time in my life I can’t stop playing with them - which is almost as annoying as biting my nails. 5. I introduced my man to everyone in my immediate family (a first for me) and extended family members on my father’s side at Thanksgiving. My hard-to-impress grandparents gave the thumbs up of approval but not without first commenting on his job and weight; typical. 6. I received my motorcycle license and purchased two motorcycles. I crashed the first one and lived to tell about it. Okay, I’m exaggerating, I didn’t really “crash” as much as fall over when I hit some gravel while turning, going 5mph. Gravel is the devil. 7. I paid off one of my credit cards that I’ve had maxed out since I was 18 years old and started to pay off my second credit card. 8. I had major foot surgery to fix several broken bones in my foot and toe that had been broken for about 10 years. I haven’t been able to wear heels since that surgery, but I’m slowly getting there. 9. I saw the Lakers play in Memphis. 10. I started off the new year in Paris at le tower. 11. I went up north (northern Michigan) for the first time in many years. It was just as beautiful as I remembered.12. I finally started my 401k and went to the dentist. It’s about time I started utilizing the perks of being employed. 13. I bought a bed frame. For the first time in several years, my bed is not on the floor… 14. After years and years of trying to tell my family that I think I’m sort of blind, I finally went to the eye doctor to find out that I do, in fact, have horrible vision and an astigmatism. This led to the purchase of glasses (seen in photo above) that I hate. I’ll be looking into Lasik’s in 2012.
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe NYE! Also, you may or may not have noticed my lack of tumbling lately, but if you’d like to keep tabs on me, follow me on instagram (tesslovesjew) and/or pinterest. <3
